Distinctive Nylon Globe
Nylon lanterns are not as attractive as the paper ones, in my opinion. But they are more moisture, mold, and tear resistant. I prefer the irregular ribbed pattern of this one over its bland-structured cousins. The lamp's diffusion is never evenly distributed over the surface of these lamp types, and just seems harsh when used with CFLs or LEDs (the 'shimmer' effect). But the irregular ribbing helps once again, by breaking up the curvature of the globe and changing the appearance of the shimmer depending on the angle of view.
